In keeping with its motto of ‘Value Beyond Discovery’ and with support from the Office of the Provost, Boston College Libraries offers a series of diverse programming to encourage widespread engagement with the University’s Catholic collections – especially the Catholic Religious Archives – to facilitate global collaborations between institutions, archivists, and scholars, and generally to promote scholarship on the Catholic Church.

The CHRI collaborates with partners at Boston College and elsewhere to organize events (both in-person and online), to award grants to defray the travel costs of researching Catholic archival collections, to gather writing fellows to discuss works and progress, and to offer innovative, open-access databases to advance the study of Catholic history. The CHRI is coordinated by Seth Meehan, program director, and by Thomas B. Wall, University Librarian at Boston College Libraries.
